Founded as a healthcare compliance consultancy, the firm has advanced and expanded steadily—despite the unexpected emergence in 2019 of a pandemic that would affect businesses around the world. Celebrating Our Early Days

In early 2013, Sanjay Deo was serving as Chief Executive Officer of a Security Operations Center and Consulting firm in South Florida. At that time, Sanjay’s professional assets included IT, network, and information security experience; relationships with other C-level executives managing hospitals, medical centers, and healthcare practices; and a commitment to improve compliance with HIPAA and the HITECH Act in the Florida healthcare industry. Inspired by these opportunities, Sanjay founded HIPAA-HITECH-SOLUTIONS, Inc., on July 30, 2013.

As the business steadily grew, the firm’s client base began to expand beyond healthcare compliance, gradually encompassing cybersecurity and regulations governing industries other than healthcare. Addressing these new opportunities, Sanjay created a new brand, 24By7Security, Inc., and absorbed the original healthcare consultancy into his new firm. Around the same time, leaving a distinguished career in financial services, Rema Deo joined the new firm as Managing Director.

From its roots as a boutique South Florida healthcare consultancy, 24By7Security developed strategically to become a highly regarded national provider of comprehensive cybersecurity and compliance services for a broad spectrum of clients.

Asked what he felt contributed most to this success, Sanjay Deo said, “We wake up every day genuinely excited to assist other organizations in better protecting their sensitive information, reducing risk, and achieving meaningful compliance with the regulations that govern their businesses.”

Celebrating More Milestones Over the Years

By 2017, the company had survived the vulnerable first five years of business and achieved several important milestones. These included completion of our 300th security risk assessment, launch of a new website and logo, and earning official status from the State of Florida as a Certified Business Enterprise as well as a Woman-Owned and Minority-Owned Business Enterprise.

In the same watershed year, we welcomed our first Fortune 500 client, celebrated 2,000 followers on Facebook and 1,500 on Twitter, and hired our fifth employee. Three years later, five employees would become 16, including several strategic recruitments that helped fuel the further expansion of services and growth of the business.

Today, 24By7Security employs a large, collaborative team of professionals with more than 100 years of collective experience in hospitality, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, aviation, and other industries. Our executive team has been enhanced with the talents of three recognized leaders in our industry: Jodi Siravo as Chief Administrative Officer, Juan Carlos Hernandez as Practice Leader for PCI and Assessments, and Nitin Chowdhry as Director of Cybersecurity Services.

In ten busy years, we’ve completed more than 2,500 security risk assessments for clients in 850 locations throughout the U.S. Our team has assisted thousands of clients in hardening their cybersecurity and compliance programs to safeguard the sensitive data of customers, patients, suppliers, partners, employees, investors, and other stakeholders.

As we celebrate our tenth year of service, we are proud to share these other recent achievements:  

• Qualified Security Assessor. We are authorized by the PCI Security Standards Council to assess merchants and other organizations against the PCI Data Security Standard and validate compliance to the standard.
• Registered Provider Organization. We are authorized by the CyberAB accreditation board to provide CMMC Readiness Services to Department of Defense contractors and subcontractors, including the latest CMMC version 2.0.
• HITRUST Authorized Readiness Licensee. This certification enables us to assist organizations in adopting the HITRUST Cybersecurity Framework, including the most recent landmark update to HITRUST CSF version 11.
• Endorsed Partner, Texas Hospital Association. Representing more than 450 hospitals and healthcare organizations throughout Texas, the THA offers members access to our firm’s services to strengthen their cybersecurity and compliance programs to protect patient, payment, and other sensitive data.

Members of our team are experts in compliance requirements for CMMC, HIPAA, HITRUST, GLBA, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, SOC/SSAE, CCPA, FFIEC, and other federal and state security regulations and security frameworks. In addition, they possess industry credentials that include Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), Health Care Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Payment Security Practitioner, and Certified Data Privacy Professional, among others.

These credentials are important to our team of experts in ensuring not only that their security knowledge remains up to date, but that they are officially recognized as qualified professionals in the security industry. They are important to our clients in terms of the quality assurance and standard of service we deliver.

Celebrating Our Community

In 2018, 24By7Security relocated to new offices in Coral Springs, Florida, after outgrowing our original space a few miles away. The move allowed us to create more collaborative workspaces, hire numerous additional staff members, and mentor student interns while remaining in the community we love. 

Sanjay and Rema Deo raised their family in Coral Springs and are actively engaged in the community on a personal and professional level. Rema serves on the Board of Directors of the Indian Regional and Cultural Center and organizes events to enhance understanding and friendship among various cultures, and has also served on the Board of Trustees of North Broward Preparatory School. Individually, they serve in other roles in many associations.  Some of the many roles that Sanjay assumes include serving as the Technology Sector Chief for Infragard's South Florida chapter, being a Board member of the South Florida CIO council, and holding the role of Co-chair for the South Florida CISO Forum.

As a tribute to their long-standing commitment to the community, 24By7Security was honored with the 2020 Business Excellence Award by the City of Coral Springs Economic Development Office. The award honors the success of Coral Springs businesses who have contributed to the economic vitality of the City, as Sanjay and Rema Deo have done for many years and will continue to do.
